Blog [#51] - Hydrophonics & Pipeline Introduction

Evening people!

Another packed week this one, a lot of stuff going on at work currently, so taking a bit more time to relax in the evenings and playing a bit of games from time to time. other than this I have been spending some time helping my girlfriend out with her shop and working on my blog mentorship and personal work!

So let's dive into it and see some of the things I am working on currently.

Redesigning Weekly Bog Template

I have been wanting to do the next step in my weekly tips for a while now and change the format and feel of them to make them more readable, so I am currently reworking this one to look more sleek like the example down below. I still need to adjust the typography on some of the components, but I am already liking it way more than the template before.

Now the main issue with this is that I basically want to get it as good as I can get and and push it on this template because if I decide to change the format, I would like to change all of the previous ones as well (so that means all 40+ ish of them, so yeeeeah, gonna take me a while to do that) but in the end I will hopefully end up with a better looking tip section but also with a better compilation PDF.

Mentorship Update

I have also been thinking a lot about the pricing of my Mentorships, how to structure them and how much money would make sense (sort of) for the time I spend on doing them. But more will be revealed next week with the announcement of my new Mentorships.

Currently the plan is still to offer the following:

- Access to all my weekly blog tips compilation document
- Weekly 1 hour 1-on-1 mentoring/feedback sessions
- Lifetime Access to the Mentorship discord channel with other Mentee's, with viewer access to some of their Mentorship channels to get more tips/insight.
- Smaller chats during the week if you would be stuck or need extra guidance.

So all of this will still be available on my patreon which you can find here ( if you are interested.

Did some more work on my little greenhouse part of the bigger environment this week, making some cooler placeholder assets for some of the hydroponic chambers that are going to be in this room as well as the living walls. Currently only have the smaller ones blocked out because I wasn't to keen on the larger ones yet, so I need to do some more experimentation on them first.

Sme little tweaks to the reflections on the larger glass panels in the main corridor, the glass wall pieces still need some attention so they fit nicely with the ceiling.

Lit up the area a bit more and also did some minor adjustments to other props in the scene.

Really had some fun digging into one of the assets for once and finding some more time to do so, so looking forward to this weekend to do some more!

This week we will be taking a look at an amazing modular environment build by Soma Wheelhouse.
It's really well composed when it comes to details and amount of assets, it all feels natural at at home in this environment. There is also a nice amount of detail such as the stones on the roofs holding down all the planks, the muddy walkways with hints of footprints and more.

Definitely have a look at this one, there are some really great additional shots and some really nice examples of Zbrush sculpts.
So thanks for the inspiration Soma, and great job on finishing this cool scene!

Alright people!
That's going to do it for me for this week, I'll catch you in the next one!

If you want to see something added to this blog, or if you were inspired by a piece of art this week, please share it down in the comments, would love to see what drives you to create your art!
